ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition Since 1968, Royal Canin has been following the belief that nutrition plays a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of cats and dogs. This is why we have designed ROYAL CANIN® veterinary diets around proven nutritional science in partnership with pet professionals and experts, delivering nutrition for pets with specific health needs.
Certain nutrients can help to support cats with Chronic Renal Insufficiency, which is why the diet you choose for your cat is key to supporting their kidney health. ROYAL CANIN® Renal with Fish pouches are specifically tailored to support adult cats with Chronic Renal Insufficiency.
ROYAL CANIN® Renal with Fish is suitable for:
• Cats with azotaemic Chronic Kidney Disease with proteinuria (IRIS stage 1 to 4).
• Cats with chronic Kidney Disease (IRIS stage 2 to 4).
• Management of calcium oxalate urolith recurrence in cats with impaired renal function.
• Prevention of recurrence of urolithiasis requiring urine alkalinisation: urate & cystine uroliths.
Key benefits:
• Renal support
o When cats' kidneys are not functioning efficiently, that often means that phosphorus cannot effectively be filtered from the bloodstream. ROYAL CANIN® Renal with Fish provides a low phosphorus content and a number of high-quality proteins to help support kidney health and function.
• Adapted Energy
o Some cats may have a reduced appetite when they experience impaired renal function. To help support your cat if their appetite has recently reduced, ROYAL CANIN® Renal with Fish has an adapted energy content to reduce the volume of each meal.
• Aromatic choice
o To help stimulate your cat's appetite in cases of food aversion or reduced appetite, ROYAL CANIN® Renal with Fish has a specific aromatic profile and loaf-like texture to encourage your cat to eat.
Royal Canin are proud to partner with leading veterinary scientists to produce renal wet food for cats. As part of the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Range, it is important that this product is only fed to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional. Transitioning your pet from one diet to another should be a smooth and gradual process over a 7-10-day period. Please ensure you follow the correct rationing amount when feeding your kidney support cat food.
Some cats with renal disorders may have a reduced appetite or food aversion, but texture variety can help to support your cat's appetite. To cater to each cat's individual preferences, ROYAL CANIN® Renal wet pouches are also available in alternative flavours and scents and as a dry food to cater for your cat’s evolving preferences. If you feed your cat a mixed diet of wet and dry food, make sure you follow the on-pack feeding guides to ensure a healthy daily food intake for your cat.

The fish flavor is a huge hit with my cat who is very particular. Essential for her kidney disease. Great gravy content
Good but eye-wateringly expensive
by Wendy -
The vet recommended this renal food for our elderly cat. It’s easy to order and arrives quickly. She really likes it and doesn’t just eat the gravy as with other cat foods. BUT it’s eye-watering expensive. Not sure we can continue buying it for very long.
My cat's joint-second favourite
by Hugh -
My cat's joint-second favourite renal diet cat food. Only *** for price because all renal diet cat food is comparatively expensive (not the seller's fault).

My fussy cat has stage 2 renal failure. This is his joint 2nd favourite renal diet food. Royal Canin is expensive, but at least he eats it most of the time.
