As Tarka, our 13 year old choccy Lab has grown older, her chronically sensitive digestive system has required many adaptions of natural foods in her life to help her system function efficiently, particularly her poo! We initially discovered Orijen dog food in Spain, where Tarka comes from. We were recommended Orijen Puppy food by our Spanish vet, and all was well. On our return to the UK we couldn’t locate any Orijen suppliers, so had to experiment with other brands, but trying to stay as close to biologically appropriate dog food as possible to maintain her otherwise wonderful good health. In a nutshell, we had read many books about human Paleo diets and this naturally led us to a similar idea for Tarka. If you can imagine dogs roaming wild, many, many years ago where the only food available was what grew from the ground, in plant food form, fell from the trees in fruit form, or in the form of the selection of wildlife roaming free at that time. It has only been in the last year that my wife located sources of Orijen Senior dog food, and we are so glad that we did. Her digestive system was beginning to become unstable again, had vets scratching their heads in confusion, and we badly sought a food with which her system could settle down and give her the best nutrition possible in her twilight years. Orijen Senior has been amazing, has the best selection of biologically appropriate ingredients on the market. It is a trusted recommended brand and here we are, now she’s older, absolutely loving this amazing supreme quality dog food. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this dog food, which also contains active ingredients for joint health , to help her sadly weakening back legs. She has been an amazingly active and healthy companion and valued member of our family, and we naturally dread the inevitable day she will leave us. However, we can hand on heart say that we have never bought cheap inefficient and unsuitable cereal bulked out food for her, she has always had the best, despite the expense, and we have been rewarded with the most amazing dog anyone could wish for. It’s really very good. I wrote a full review but sadly it said that I wrote too much, but at the end of the day we highly recommend this supreme quality dog food which our 13 year old choccy lab adores, from when she was a pup to these days when she needs senior.
We owe our trusted companions and friends the very best, so use Orijen without hesitation.

Bought this for my senior staffy. She easily puts weight on and with the reduced activity level I have to be very careful what and how much to feed her. Unfortunately Taste of the Wild doesn't do senior food. Not much choice for seniors if you want grain free. Quite costly but at least you don’t waste money on filler! She absolutely loves it (so do my other dogs so much that I use it as treats 😊) and it seems to do the trick, ie keeps her weight stable and she still gets same portion.
