The ROYAL CANIN® Gastrointestinal Tract range is designed to support dogs with diverse digestive tract disorders, including liver conditions. For dogs that suffer with liver disease - such as chronic liver insufficiency - a tailored hepatic diet for dogs that contains supportive nutrients can help to support liver function.

Copper accumulation can happen in some liver diseases, this food helps to minimise copper accumulation in your dog's liver. ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic dry dog food contains specifically adapted levels of high-quality proteins to support liver function

ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic dog food is suitable for dogs with:
- Chronic hepatitis associated with liver dysfunction
- Portosystemic shunt
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Copper storage disease

Please note: ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic dry dog food is not suitable for pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis, hyperlipidaemia, acute hepatitis without hepatic encephalopathy, growth, gestation, or lactation.

Adapted protein content
ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic contains specifically adapted levels of high-quality proteins. The combination of these proteins helps to support liver function.
Low Copper
ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic's low copper content can help to minimise copper accumulation in your dog's liver.
High Energy
ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic has a high energy content to help reduce the volume of your dog's meals and decrease their intestinal load while providing the energy they need.
COMPOSITION: Rice, hydrolysed soya protein isolate*, maize, animal fats, beet pulp, hydrolysed animal proteins*, minerals, soya oil, vegetable fibres, fish oil, fructo-oligo-saccharides, algal oil Schizochytrium sp. (source of DHA), marigold meal. *Protein sources: 13.6%. Highly digestible ingredients: 78.3%.
ANALYTICAL CONSTITUENTS: Protein: 16.0% - Crude fibres: 2.3% - Fat content: 16.0% - Crude ash: 4.7% - Sodium: 0.2% - Copper (total): 3 mg/kg - Omega-3 fatty acids: 0.85% - EPA/DHA: 0.41% - Metabolisable energy: 3881 kcal/kg.

As part of the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range, it is important that this product is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional. Transitioning your pet from one diet to another should be a smooth and gradual process over a 7–10 day period. Please ensure you follow the correct rationing amount, especially when mixed feeding. To cater to each dog’s individual preferences, ROYAL CANIN® Hepatic is also available as wet food in our loaf texture.
