PURINA VETERINARY DIETS NF is a complete veterinary diet for dogs with chronic kidney disease. PVD NF contains restricted amounts of phosphorus as this mineral can build up in kidney patients and has been shown to contribute to progression of the disease. It also contains limited amounts of high quality protein to help reduce the build-up of toxins which make patients feel unwell, while helping to maintain muscle mass. Omega-3 fatty acids also help maximise the natural anti-inflammatory processes and reduce blood pressure inside the kidney. Note that PVD NF is not suitable for dogs that require a high protein/phosphorus diet diet such as pregnant bitches or growing puppies.

It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending period of use. Recommended length of time for use : initially up to 6 months. Water should be available at all times.

The food has a very soft mousse like texture, that you can spoon onto a LickiMat. After trying several brands of wet renal foods, this has been the one that my dog likes the smell and taste of, especially when it can be a real challenge in getting them stimulated to eat when they have chronic renal disease.
